About this release
Office 365 ProPlus is the always current desktop suite, the same applications as the perpetual releases but on a rolling update track so the feature set keeps moving rather than freezing at a version. What is packaged here is the small online installer plus a prepared configuration, so you run a light launcher, pick your architecture and language, and it downloads the current build straight from source and sets it up in an activated state.
The upside of the online installer approach is that you always land on the latest servicing build rather than an image that is months out of date the moment it is made. The configuration handles the parts that usually trip people up with the deployment tool, so you are not hand editing an XML file to choose which applications go on and which stay off. The result is the full ProPlus lineup, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Access and Publisher.
Because it is the subscription grade build, Excel carries the newest function set, the co-authoring and collaboration features are present, and the interface matches the current Windows visual style with dark mode throughout. The trade is that it wants a network connection to pull the payload during setup, after which it runs on the desktop like any other Office install.

Installation notes
Follow these in order. Most reports of a failed install come from skipping a step rather than from the package itself.
- Remove any previous Office installation with the official removal tool first.
- Stay connected to the network for this one, the installer downloads the payload.
- Extract the archive and run the launcher as administrator.
- Pick your architecture and language, 64-bit unless you need legacy add-ins.
- Let it download and install, it will take a while on a slow line.
- Open Word once to confirm the state, then it is ready.
System requirements

Things worth knowing
- Unlike the perpetual images, this one needs the network during install because it downloads the build.
- Turn off automatic updates afterward if you want the activation state pinned exactly as installed.
- Do not mix architectures across Office products on one machine, pick one and stay with it.

What people are saying
Nice getting the latest build straight off rather than an old image. Download took a bit on my line.
Removal tool step is not optional. Skipped it and setup fought an old cache.
Picked 64-bit and English, ran clean, Word opened activated. No fuss.
