Frequently asked questions

The questions that come through the contact form most often, answered once so they do not have to be answered again.

Is anything on this site paid for?
No. There is nothing to buy here, no membership tier, no premium queue and no account of any kind. The index is a catalogue, and every listing carries the same information regardless of who is reading it.
Why are the write ups so long?
Because a product name and a download count are not enough to decide whether a package is the one you want. Version, package contents, install order, requirements and the known problems all matter, so all of them are on the page.
How current is the version data?
Each listing shows how recently it was rechecked, as a relative time. Anything showing a recheck within the last few days has been confirmed against the package. Older entries are still accurate more often than not, but the recheck time is the honest signal.
What does pre-activated mean on a listing?
It describes how the package arrives rather than something you do to it. The entry notes on each listing spell out what, if anything, needs doing during install.
Are there archive passwords?
No. Nothing in the library is password protected, and any site asking you for one to open a package from here did not get it from here.
Why does my antivirus flag some packages?
Installers that modify licensing state and write to protected locations trigger the same detections regardless of what they contain. The guides page covers how people usually work around it, and what to do if you would rather not.
A download is slow. Is that the mirror?
Check the mirror status on the listing first. If all three regions show online, try a different region, since the nearest one is not always the fastest.
Can I ask for something that is not listed?
Yes, on the requests page. Requests are read, and what gets added next is driven mostly by how many people ask for the same title.
Do you take reports of wrong information?
Yes, and those get handled first. Wrong version data on a listing is worse than a missing listing, because it wastes a download before anyone notices.
How do I report a mirror that is down?
Through the contact page, with the entry name and which region failed. Mirror reports usually get confirmed within a few hours.
Is there an account system?
No. Nothing on the site requires signing in, because nothing on the site is personalised. The forms are the only place anything is submitted, and they only take what the fields ask for.
What happens to what I submit through a form?
It is stored so it can be read and acted on. The privacy page describes exactly which fields are kept and which are not.

Still stuck

If the answer is not here, the guides page covers installation in detail, and the contact page reaches the people who maintain the index. Reports about wrong listing data are read first.
