No accounts, no tracking scripts, no analytics. The only thing stored is what you type into a form and submit.

The short version

There are no accounts on this site, so there is nothing to build a profile around. The only information that reaches anyone here is what you type into one of the two forms and choose to submit. Browsing the catalogue submits nothing.

What the site collects

Serving a page requires the request to reach the server, and standard server logging applies to that in the same way it does to any site. That logging is operational, used to keep the service running and to see when something is broken, and it is not used to build a profile of a visitor or joined to anything you submit through a form.

The search box posts what you type to this site's own search endpoint so results can be returned as you type. Those queries are used to produce the results and are not stored against you. Nothing about the search is written into the address bar, so a query does not end up in your browser history.

What the forms store

Two forms exist on this site, and each stores exactly the fields it asks for and nothing else.

  • Contact form. Name or handle, email address, topic, subject, message, and a reference so the message can be found again.
  • Request form. Name or handle, software title, developer, version, platform, notes, and a reference.

The email field on the contact form exists so a reply can be sent. It is not added to any mailing list, because there is no mailing list. Do not put confidential information in either form.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no tracking cookies, runs no analytics package, and embeds no third party scripts. The only script served is the one that powers the live search box, and it is served from this site and talks only to this site.

Third parties

Nothing you submit is sold, shared or passed to a third party for marketing. Information may be disclosed where there is a legal obligation to do so, and in no other circumstance.

Retention and removal

Form submissions are kept while they are useful, which for a contact message means until it has been dealt with and for a request means until the title has been catalogued or the request is clearly stale. If you want a submission removed sooner, ask through the contact page and quote the reference shown when you submitted it.

Your choices

You can use the entire catalogue without submitting anything. If you never use a form, nothing about you is stored beyond the operational logging described above. That is the simplest way to keep it that way.
