About this release
Lumion exists to close the gap between a finished model and a presentable image. Import the geometry, and instead of setting up a render engine you are dropped into a real time scene where you place trees, people, cars and furniture, set the sun angle, choose weather, and see the result immediately rather than waiting for a test render.
The content library is most of the value. Thousands of models covering vegetation, people, vehicles, interior furnishing, exterior elements and materials, all built to work with the renderer rather than imported from elsewhere. Populating a street scene or an interior is a matter of minutes because you are placing prepared assets rather than sourcing and fixing them.
Output covers what an architectural practice actually delivers. Stills at print resolution, animations along camera paths with effects stacked per clip, 360 degree panoramas for a viewer, and a real time walkthrough for a live presentation. The effects stack carries the atmospheric work, so depth of field, bloom, colour grading, rain, snow, fog and sun study are applied as layers rather than baked in at model level.

Installation notes
Follow these in order. Most reports of a failed install come from skipping a step rather than from the package itself.
- Confirm you have the disk space, this is a very large install.
- Disconnect from the network.
- Extract to a short path on a drive with room to spare.
- Run setup as administrator and pick the content library scope.
- Apply the included licensing step before the first launch.
- Launch once offline and run the built in benchmark.

Things worth knowing
- This is the most graphics hungry title in the library, run the built in benchmark before committing to a project.
- Keep the content library on the same fast drive as the application, streaming assets from a slow disk stalls the viewport.
- Live sync needs the plug-in installed into the modelling application, install that after the main setup.
