About this release
SPSS Statistics is the statistical package that a great deal of academic and market research runs through, and its enduring appeal is that you do not have to be a programmer to use it. The whole workflow is menu driven, sitting on a spreadsheet like data view and a separate variable view, so a researcher can prepare data and run a rigorous analysis without writing a line of code.
The analysis coverage is broad. Descriptive statistics, the standard tests from t tests and ANOVA through regression and general linear models, non parametric methods, factor and cluster analysis, and survival analysis are all there in the menus, each producing structured output in a viewer that is close to publication ready. For anyone who does want to script, the underlying syntax is exposed and every dialog can paste its command, so an analysis is reproducible.
Data handling is a strength people underrate. Importing from spreadsheets and databases, recoding and computing new variables, handling missing data, merging and aggregating files, and defining value labels and measurement levels that the tests then respect. This build is the full modules package, so the optional add-ons that are normally licensed separately are present rather than gated.
What it does
- Menu driven analysis with no programming required
- Separate data view and variable view for structured datasets
- Descriptive statistics and the full range of standard tests
- Regression, general linear models and non parametric methods
- Factor, cluster and survival analysis
- Syntax exposed and pasteable from every dialog for reproducibility
- Import from spreadsheets and databases
- Recode, compute, merge, aggregate and missing data handling
- Publication oriented output viewer with exportable tables and charts
- Full optional modules included in this build
Changes in this version
- Interim fix rollup folded into the installer
- Improved stability on very large datasets
- Faster output rendering in the viewer
- Better spreadsheet import handling of mixed data types
- Updated chart export options
What the package contains
- IBM SPSS Statistics offline installer with full modules
- All optional analysis modules
- Sample datasets and documentation
- All interface languages
- Readme with the install order written out step by step
Installation notes
Follow these in order. Most reports of a failed install come from skipping a step rather than from the package itself.
- Disconnect from the network before you begin.
- Pause real time protection for the install.
- Extract to a short path such as C:\Setup.
- Run setup as administrator and let it finish.
- Apply the included licensing step before the first launch.
- Launch once offline and confirm the modules are present.
System requirements
| Operating system | Windows 10 version 22H2 or Windows 11, 64-bit |
| Processor | Intel or AMD 64-bit, faster helps large datasets |
| Memory | 8 GB minimum, 16 GB for large datasets |
| Graphics | No specific requirement |
| Storage | 6 GB free during install |
| Display | 1920 by 1080 recommended |
Things worth knowing
- Define measurement levels and value labels properly, the tests and charts rely on them being correct.
- Paste the syntax from your dialogs as you go, it is the difference between a reproducible analysis and a one off.
- Very large datasets are memory bound, more RAM helps far more than a faster processor here.
Questions about this title
Do I need to know statistics programming?
What does the full modules build add?
Can I reproduce an analysis later?
Why is it slow on my data?
What people are saying
Full modules unlocked means the advanced tests my thesis needs are just there. Menu driven so no coding.
Paste the syntax as you work. Saved me when a reviewer asked me to rerun everything.
It is memory bound on large files. Threw more RAM at it and the slowness went away.
