About this release
ANSYS is the simulation platform that a large share of serious engineering analysis runs on, and this is the whole product pack rather than a single solver. Structural analysis, computational fluid dynamics, electromagnetics, thermal and the multiphysics coupling that ties them together are all present, which means a part can be tested against stress, flow, heat and fields inside one coordinated environment.
Workbench is the hub that makes the pack coherent. It ties geometry, meshing, the solvers and the post processing into a project schematic where the output of one analysis feeds the input of the next, so a structural result can be driven by a thermal load that came from a fluid simulation without exporting anything by hand. That coupling is the reason organisations pay for the full suite rather than point tools.
The individual applications are deep in their own right. Mechanical for finite element structural and thermal work, Fluent and CFX for fluid dynamics, HFSS and Maxwell for high and low frequency electromagnetics, and the meshing and geometry tools that feed them all. This build bundles the products together with the modules that are normally licensed piece by piece, so the whole analysis chain is available.

Installation notes
Follow these in order. Most reports of a failed install come from skipping a step rather than from the package itself.
- Disconnect from the network before you begin.
- Pause real time protection for the whole install.
- Extract to a short path, the package is very large.
- Run setup as administrator and select the products you need.
- Apply the included licensing step before the first launch.
- Launch Workbench once offline and confirm the solvers are present.

Things worth knowing
- Solve times scale with cores and memory, this is one of the few workloads where more of both pays off immediately.
- Install only the products you use, the full pack is enormous and most work needs a subset.
- Block the licensing components in the firewall so they stop retrying at startup.

Whole pack in one install. Coupling a thermal load into a structural solve without exporting is the whole point.
Fluent runs well but budget the RAM. Large meshes are memory bound before anything else.
Installed only the products I use and it dropped tens of gigabytes. No need for the full set.
