About this release

Foxit PDF Editor Pro is a full PDF authoring suite that built its following on being quick and light where the obvious alternative had grown heavy. It edits the text and images inside an existing document, reflowing paragraphs and matching fonts, converts in both directions with Office formats, builds interactive forms, and signs documents, all from an interface that opens fast and does not sit on the machine like a weight.

The editing is the core. Text in a document becomes editable in place with paragraph reflow, images swap and move, and the layout tools reorganise, combine, split and renumber pages across many files. The OCR pass turns a scan into searchable, selectable text with a choice of languages, which is the step that makes an old paper document actually useful rather than just visible.

Around that sit the production features an office runs on. Form fields with recognition, validation and calculation, redaction that removes the underlying content rather than covering it, side by side comparison of two versions, and signature workflows with a certificate based option. Installation notes

Follow these in order. Most reports of a failed install come from skipping a step rather than from the package itself.

1. Uninstall any older Foxit or conflicting PDF editor first.
2. Disconnect from the network before you start.
3. Turn off real time protection for the duration.
4. Extract and run the installer for your architecture as administrator.
5. Apply the included activation step, then launch once.
6. Close the application and reconnect the network.

System requirements

Things worth knowing

• The Office add-in only registers if Office was installed first.
• Redaction has to be applied to take effect, drawing a box over text in any viewer does not remove it.
• Turn off the updater if you want the version and activation state pinned exactly where they are.
