About this release
Filmora aims at the space between a phone app and a professional editor. The timeline behaves the way you expect, drag and drop works everywhere, and the intimidating parts of a full editor are either simplified or hidden until you go looking for them. For someone editing their own footage rather than working a job, that trade is usually the right one.
The asset library is the strongest part of the package. Titles, transitions, overlays, filters, sound effects and music beds are all built in and searchable, so building a piece is mostly selection rather than construction. This build includes the effect packs that normally sit behind the subscription, so the library is fully populated from first launch.
Underneath the presets there is more control than the interface suggests. Keyframing on every transform property, speed ramping, masking and blending modes, audio ducking, motion tracking that attaches an element to a moving subject, and screen recording built in. Exports go out at up to 4K with the usual platform presets, and the render queue handles batches without babysitting.

Installation notes
Follow these in order. Most reports of a failed install come from skipping a step rather than from the package itself.
- Disconnect from the network first.
- Extract the archive to any folder.
- Run the installer and complete the wizard.
- Do not launch it yet, apply the included activation step.
- Open the application once and check the library is fully populated.
- Keep the network off on first launch, reconnect afterwards.

Things worth knowing
- Some library items stream from a remote asset service, the bundled set is what works offline.
- Block the updater so a version bump does not reset the activation state.
- Variable frame rate screen recordings should be converted to constant frame rate before importing.
