About this release
CapCut sits at the opposite end of the editing spectrum from a full broadcast tool. The timeline is simple, the effects are one click, and the entire application is arranged around getting a vertical cut finished quickly. For social delivery, that focus is the feature, not a limitation.
Auto captions are the part most people install it for. Run the pass, get a caption track with word level timing, then apply an animated caption style that highlights each word as it is spoken. The result is the look that dominates short form video, and doing it by hand in a traditional editor takes an order of magnitude longer.
The rest fills in around that. Background removal without a green screen, auto beat detection that drops markers on a music track so cuts land musically, speed ramping with preset curves, a large transition and effect library, text to speech in a range of voices, and export presets sized for each platform. This build has the pro tier features enabled, so the effects, filters and export options that normally sit behind an upgrade prompt are all available.

Things worth knowing

- Block the auto updater or a future version will overwrite the unlocked state.
- Export at the platform preset rather than a custom bitrate, the presets are already tuned for the target.
