About this release
vMix turns a Windows machine into a full live production switcher, the kind of setup that used to mean a rack of dedicated hardware. It takes in cameras, capture cards, video files, images, screen and window captures, and remote guests, and it mixes between them live with transitions, picture in picture and overlays, all from one interface driven by keyboard, mouse or a control surface.
The Pro tier is the top level with the ceiling raised on everything. More inputs, four independent overlay channels, instant replay with slow motion for sports, multiple recording formats at once, and multi bitrate streaming to several destinations together. There is a full title system with animated graphics, a scoreboard and clock set for sports, a virtual set capability with chroma key, and an audio mixer with per input control and effects.
It is built to go live and stay live for hours without drama. Streaming and recording run at the same time, so you push to a platform and keep a clean local copy, and the call feature brings remote guests in over the internet as clean inputs. The build here is the full Pro version with the maximum input count and every production feature unlocked.

Installation notes
Follow these in order. Most reports of a failed install come from skipping a step rather than from the package itself.
- Disconnect from the network before you begin.
- Extract the archive to a short path such as C:\Setup.
- Run the installer as administrator and complete the wizard.
- Apply the included activation step before first launch.
- Connect your capture devices, then launch and configure inputs.
- Reconnect to the network for streaming.
System requirements
| Operating system | Windows 10 version 22H2 or Windows 11, 64-bit |
| Processor | Intel or AMD 64-bit, high clock multi core recommended |
| Memory | 8 GB minimum, 16 GB or more for many inputs |
| Graphics | GPU with 4 GB VRAM, 8 GB for heavy production |
| Storage | 1 GB for the install plus fast disk for recording |
| Capture | Capture cards or devices for camera inputs |
Things worth knowing
- Live production is demanding, test your whole setup at the real input count before you go live, not five minutes before.
- Record to a fast dedicated drive so a recording does not stutter while streaming at the same time.
- A control surface makes a busy show far easier to run than mouse and keyboard alone.

What does the Pro tier add?
Can it stream and record at once?
How do remote guests join?
Do I need special hardware?
What people are saying
Ran a four camera event with replay and remote guests off one machine. Replaced a whole hardware rack.
Streams and records to a second drive at once with no stutter. Do use a separate recording disk.
Get a control surface for a busy show. Mouse only gets frantic when four things happen at once.
