About this release
SkinFiner does one job and keeps its whole interface pointed at it. Portrait skin retouching is slow work when it is done the manual way, with frequency separation, dodge and burn passes and a lot of careful brushing, and this tool collapses the first ninety percent of that into a few sliders that read the skin and smooth it while leaving the eyes, lips and hair alone.
The automatic skin detection is what makes it fast. Point it at a portrait and it isolates the skin regions on its own, so the smoothing, the tone evening and the blemish reduction all stay on the skin and off the detail you want to keep sharp. From there the sliders handle texture, tone, glow and detail independently, so you can smooth without turning the face to plastic.
It runs two ways. As a standalone editor it opens an image, does the retouch and exports, which suits a photographer processing a batch of headshots. As a plugin it drops into a larger editor as one step in a bigger retouch, so the skin pass happens where it belongs in the pipeline and hands the result back. This release has the full feature set unlocked from first launch.

Installation notes
Follow these in order. Most reports of a failed install come from skipping a step rather than from the package itself.

- Extract the archive to a folder you control.
- Run the installer as administrator and finish the wizard.
- For plugin use, point the installer at your host editor's plugin folder.

Things worth knowing
- Push the smoothing too far and skin reads as plastic, keep some texture on unless the brief wants otherwise.
- The plugin build has to be pointed at the correct host folder or the host will not see it.
- Batch processing applies one preset across the set, so cull mixed lighting shots into separate batches first.

What people are saying
Batch ran forty corporate headshots through one preset and they came out consistent. Saved my evening.
Use it as the skin step inside a bigger retouch. Detail slider keeps it from going plastic.
Skin detection handles my darker toned clients much better on this build than the last one.
