About this release
This is the standalone perpetual edition of Lightroom, the one that installs once and runs without a subscription, which is exactly why it stays in demand years after the subscription model took over. It is built around a local catalogue, so you import a shoot, organise and rate in the library, develop the keepers, and output a set, with every edit stored as instructions against the untouched original.
The develop module carries the raw pipeline this edition shipped with. Exposure and tone, the tone curve, HSL, split toning, detail with sharpening and noise reduction, lens corrections from a profile library, and a graduated, radial and brush based local adjustment system for working a specific area. It predates the newer AI masking, but the manual local tools cover the same ground with a bit more work.
The rest of the modules make it a complete photographer's workflow rather than just an editor. The library organises with collections, keywords, flags and ratings across a large archive, and the print, slideshow, book and web modules output a finished deliverable without a second application. For someone who wants the classic catalogue workflow with no ongoing payment, this edition is the whole package.

Things worth knowing
- This edition predates the AI masking of the later Classic releases, the manual local tools cover the same work with more effort.

- Set a preview expiry so the preview cache does not grow without limit over time.

What people are saying
The whole reason I keep this is no subscription. Catalogue workflow I already know, nothing to renew, done.
Manual graduated and brush tools do everything I need. No AI masking but I got by fine without it for years.
Print module put a whole camera club exhibition on paper without a second application. Underrated.
