About this release

DriverPack Solution solves the specific problem of a freshly installed machine that has no working network driver, and therefore no way to download the driver it needs to get online. Unlike a driver updater that fetches from the internet, this carries the drivers themselves in the pack, so it works with the network completely off, which is the whole point of the offline edition.

Run it on a bare machine and it scans the hardware, matches every device against the drivers bundled in the pack, and installs what is missing in one pass, network, chipset, audio, graphics and the peripheral devices that Windows leaves on placeholders. On an old machine or an unusual one where the maker's driver page is long gone, it is often the quickest route to a fully working system.

It is portable, so nothing installs, and it runs from a folder or a large USB stick, which is how most technicians carry it. Installation notes

Follow these in order. Most reports of a failed install come from skipping a step rather than from the package itself.

1. Extract or copy the pack to a folder or a large USB stick.
2. There is no installation, the pack is portable.
3. Run the launcher as administrator on the target machine.
4. Let it take the restore point it offers.
5. Use expert mode to review the list, then apply.
6. Reboot when it finishes and confirm the network driver is working.
