The professional tier removes the friction the free version imposes, downloading drivers at full speed and updating in a batch rather than one device at a time with pauses in between. Before applying anything it backs up the driver being replaced, so a bad update can be restored from inside the application rather than through recovery mode.
There is a genuinely useful offline scan feature for the chicken and egg problem of a fresh machine with no network driver.
