About this release
AIDA64 tells you what is actually in a machine. Not the marketing name on the box, the real components, the specific memory modules with their timings and manufacturer, the exact storage controller, the graphics chip revision, the motherboard chipset, the firmware version, the installed drivers and the state of every one of them. On a machine you did not build, or one that was sold to you with a vague specification, that information is worth having and is remarkably hard to get any other way.
The sensor side reads every temperature, voltage, fan speed, clock rate and power figure the hardware exposes, and logs them over time to a file you can look at afterwards. That is how you find the intermittent problem, the thermal throttle that only happens under sustained load, the fan that spins up ten degrees later than it should, the power delivery sagging on one rail. Readings can be pushed to an external display, a secondary screen or a hardware panel for permanent monitoring.
The stability testing and benchmarking round it out. The stress test loads the processor, the memory, the cache, the storage and the graphics independently or all at once, and reports the moment anything reports an error or throttles. The benchmark set covers memory bandwidth and latency, processor throughput across several workload types, and disk performance, with a comparison list so a number means something. Installation notes
Follow these in order. Most reports of a failed install come from skipping a step rather than from the package itself.
- Disconnect from the network before you start.
- Extract the archive to any folder, the package is small.
- Run the installer as administrator, or use the portable build directly.
- Apply the included activation step before first launch.
- Open it once and let the hardware detection pass complete.
- Reconnect to the network.

Things worth knowing
- Sensor access needs administrator rights, without them most readings simply do not appear.
- Run the stress test with adequate cooling and supervision, it will push hardware to its actual limit and is meant to.
- Some sensor readings depend on the motherboard exposing them, a missing value is usually the hardware rather than the software.
