About this release
This is the model support package that the generative features in the editor reach for, rather than a standalone application you open on its own. When generative fill, generative expand and the text to image panel are present in the interface but greyed out or asking to download something on first use, this is the component that satisfies that request without a network round trip.
The package installs the family of generative models alongside the host application and registers them so the contextual controls light up from the first launch. Fills that respect the surrounding pixels, expansions that invent plausible edges past the original canvas, and prompt driven object generation all resolve against the bundled model set, which means the whole loop of select, describe and commit works with the machine offline.
It is a companion piece, so it expects a matching year release of the host editor already present. Once installed it stays out of the way. There is no separate window, no tray icon and no dashboard, just the generative panels behaving as though the feature had been fully provisioned by a normal sign in, which for a machine that is meant to stay off the network is exactly the point.
What it does
- Bundled generative model set for fill, expand and text to image
- Registers with the host editor so contextual controls unlock at launch
- Context aware fills that sample the surrounding layer content
- Generative expand that invents plausible detail past the canvas edge
- Prompt driven object generation placed onto ordinary editable layers
- Reference image conditioning for matching an existing style or subject
- Prompt history stored per document so a session can be retraced
- Runs against the local model set with no network round trip
- Multiple aspect and resolution presets for the generation panel
- Twenty four interface languages selectable during setup
Changes in this version
- Refreshed model set with cleaner edges on generative expand
- Faster first generation after a cold launch of the host editor
- Improved prompt adherence on short descriptive prompts
- Reduced disk footprint after repacking the model files
- Better handling of reference conditioning on portrait subjects
What the package contains
- Firefly AI support package offline installer
- Complete bundled generative model set
- Registration component for the matching host release
- All interface languages, selectable during setup
- Readme with the install order written out step by step
Installation notes
Follow these in order. Most reports of a failed install come from skipping a step rather than from the package itself.
- Confirm the matching year release of the host editor is already installed.
- Disconnect from the network before you begin.
- Turn off real time protection, since the component writes into protected model folders.
- Extract the archive to a short path such as C:\Setup.
- Run the support installer as administrator and let it finish.
- Launch the host editor once so the generative panels register, then reconnect.
System requirements
| Operating system | Windows 10 version 22H2 or Windows 11 |
| Processor | Intel or AMD 64-bit with SSE 4.2 or newer |
| Memory | 16 GB minimum, 32 GB for large generations |
| Graphics | GPU with DirectX 12 support and 6 GB VRAM recommended |
| Storage | 12 GB free for the model set |
| Host | Matching year release of the host image editor installed |
Things worth knowing
- This is not a standalone tool, it does nothing without the matching host editor present.
- Install it after the editor, never before, or the registration step has nothing to attach to.
- Block it in the firewall if you do not want the host phoning home for entitlement checks.
Questions about this title
Is this a program I open?
Do I still need the main editor?
Does generation work offline?
Why are the panels still greyed out?
What people are saying
This was the missing piece. Generative fill went from asking to download to just working, network off.
Install the editor first then this. Did it the other way round once and nothing registered.
Expand edges are cleaner than the panel was giving me before. Worth the swap.
