About this release
Dreamweaver sits between a plain code editor and a drag and drop page builder, and its whole appeal is that it never fully commits to either. The split view shows a live rendering of the page next to the markup, so an edit on either side updates the other, and someone who writes markup by hand keeps full control while someone who prefers to work visually gets a layout that still produces clean code underneath.
It is a full development environment for front end work. The code editor has syntax highlighting, code completion and linting across markup, style sheets and scripting, and the live view renders the page as a modern browser would so styling is judged in place. Site management ties a folder of files into a project, tracks the links between pages, and handles the upload to a server through the built in transfer client.
For a designer whose job is to turn a layout into a working page rather than to run a build toolchain, it remains a comfortable place to work. The visual tools handle the structure, the code view handles the detail, and the preview handles the check. This release is the full application unlocked from first launch, with its starter templates and framework support present.
