About this release
This is the standard desktop client for the streaming service, adjusted so the interruptions that normally sit between tracks are stripped out. The full catalogue, search, radio and the recommendation engine all behave as they do in the retail client, but the audio and banner spots that punctuate a listening session on a free account are gone, and playback runs straight from one song into the next.
Everything the ordinary player does is here. Your saved library and playlists sync from the account, collaborative and followed playlists update, and the queue, crossfade and gapless options all work. On the desktop the client doubles as a controller for playback on other devices, so a phone or a speaker on the same account is driven from the same window.
The build is packaged to sit still once installed. The automatic updater is held back so a future client update does not quietly undo the modifications, and the launcher is set up to run the patched version rather than pulling a fresh one on start. Beyond that it is the familiar application, and anyone who has used the service will not have to relearn anything.

- Full streaming catalogue with search, radio and recommendations
- Audio and banner interruptions removed for uninterrupted playback

- Lightweight footprint that starts quickly on modest hardware

- Readme with the install order written out step by step
- Notes on signing in without triggering an update
- Uninstall helper for a clean removal later
Installation notes
Follow these in order. Most reports of a failed install come from skipping a step rather than from the package itself.
- Remove any existing Spotify client first, including the store version.
- Disconnect from the network before you run the installer.
- Run the installer, it does not need administrator rights.
- Do not let it check for updates, the block is applied but leave the network off for the first launch.
- Open the client, sign in to your account, then reconnect.
- Leave the bundled updater block in place.

Things worth knowing
- If the client ever updates itself, the modifications drop off and need reapplying, which is why the updater is blocked.
- Sign in with your own account, the modifications change the client, not the account.
- The store packaged version cannot be modified this way, use this standalone client instead.
