Edge is Microsoft's browser rebuilt on the same Chromium engine that sits under Chrome, which means it runs the same extensions and renders pages the same way while adding the pieces Microsoft layers on top. This package is the standalone offline installer rather than the small web stub, so it sets up on a machine with no connection and lands on a known version instead of pulling whatever is current at the time.

The everyday browser is all here. Installation notes

Follow these in order. Most reports of a failed install come from skipping a step rather than from the package itself.

1. Extract the archive to any folder, the installer is self contained.
2. Run the installer, it will place the browser without needing a connection.

4. Open the browser once and set the default search and start page.
5. Disable the automatic updater if you want the version held.
6. Sign in to sync only if you want settings carried across machines.
